[Intro] "The comfortable truth is a beautiful prison. And we are here for the key." [Verse 1] They asking what's the blueprint, the secret movement... I tell 'em it’s a cold will, the mindset of a student who learned that discipline is beautiful but feels so ruthless. I walk into the chapel, see the habits lookin' fallible, A parody of passion where the accolades are tragic. I see the dust collecting on potential, The mission statement printed out but non-essential. I feel the lethargy, a comfortable disease, A million little compromises rustling in the breeze. This the diagnosis, the focus before the force comes, This the silence in the air before the war drums... [Pre-Chorus] I heard the whispers 'bout 'slowin' it down, it ain't a race to win.' Heard 'em say 'he's burning too bright, look at the state he's in.' But a flame that doesn't burn is just a eulogy for light. This is that culture shock that rewires your brain on sight. [Chorus] We do not come in peace. We do not come in peace. We do not come in peace. Amp it up or find sweet release [Verse 2] I see 'em frozen in amber, a sentimental cancer of safe returns and pensions, but they never ask the answer to the question of potential. Their plot is thin, they bought 'em a place inside the system 'til they rot from the bottom. But me? I'm movin' surgical, my verbal is a scalpel, see I turn the probable into a powerful fallacy. I saw the slack in the architecture, that's the point of entry, to tear apart the sacred artery until the heart is empty. I'm from the house of the hard knocks where the clocks don't stop/ for a stock drop. I’m on your car top with a war cry—now watch the world watch. [Bridge] They said the role of a leader is popularity. I said the role of a leader… is confronting disparity Between what you could be and what they let you be, a parody. See, they want the Peace Corps. I'm kicking in the weak doors. A billion-dollar dream is what I bleed for. [Chorus] We do not come in peace. We do not come in peace. We do not come in peace. Amp it up or find sweet release
"On the road of life... there are two types of people..." The passenger is pleasant, his presence is a phantom He agrees with every single statement at random. He sees the problems, got the data and a clear view, but his solutions only echo what you just said, near you. He’s dead weight on the chassis, you can feel the axle strain, He's a ghost inside the system who's afraid to feel the rain. He’s along for the ride, just a tourist in the fast lane, A spirit in the slipstream, whisperin' the past's name. He occupies a space, a calculated cost, another friendly face, another battle lost. He a vacant set of eyes staring at the road ahead, Dreamin' of the finish line while sleepin' in a feather bed. And the engine's gettin' hotter now, you feel the rumble rise, You look him in the eyes and see a stranger in disguise. He thinks that momentum is a thing you get for free... But it's about to be a reckoning for him and me. [Chorus] Are you a DRIVER with your hands on the wheel of fire? Or a PASSENGER whose only real fuel is desire? Are you the DRIVER who feels the engine start to climb? Or a PASSENGER just killing someone else's time? The driver's got a hunger that a paycheck doesn't fix, He's obsessed with the combustion, the mechanics, and the risk. He feels a sense of ownership, the weight of every turn, Knows that every bridge you build is a bridge you gotta burn. He's not blamin' the conditions, he's not talkin' 'bout the odds, He's at war with his own limits, negotiatin' with the gods. He wants to feel the traction, the friction, and the heat, the satisfaction of the asphalt underneath his feet. He's the architect of movement, a current in the air, The only one who knows the difference 'tween a threat and a prayer. So when I'm scanning through the roster, the question I propose: Do you build the ship that's sailing, or just admire how it goes? Are you a DRIVER with your hands on the wheel of fire? Or a PASSENGER whose only real fuel is desire? Are you the DRIVER who feels the engine start to climb? Or a PASSENGER just killing someone else's time? The bus is leaving. Wrong people off first. In the right seats. The right seats...
[Intro] "If you have ever worked in or with government, you have seen extreme examples of this." [Verse 1] You see the cycle time is lethargic, they treat the work like a carcass, another day in the office, just swimming around with the starfish. I told my people the process ain't somethin' that we can just stomach, we gotta become the comet that shatters their placid summit. The urgency is a concept they view with a deep suspicion, a different vision, they movin' slow with a poised position. I said, 'The point you're missin'/ is the joint that you're dissin'/ is the future,' now listen. This ain't a minor infraction, this a system condition. This is not 'bout being frantic, this about a different mechanic, a mindset so panoramic you never panic when pressure's applied. You just find a way inside, break it open, then let it ride. [Pre-Chorus] They start to do things differently, they feel a brand new way, they stop thinkin' 'bout a week from now and only see today. This ain't just doin' things faster, man, this ain't a simple trick... This is that get-it-done culture where the mindset finally clicks. [Chorus] Hiiiigher Velo-city! Got the grace of God on a killin' spree! [Yeah! Let's go!] Hiiiigher Velo-city! Oh, you thought we was sleepin', now you finally see! [Verse 2] The tempo dictates the tactic, the cadence becomes prolific, they move like a single current, the energy's so specific. We gotta indoctrinate the rookies when they walk in the buildin', we give 'em the shock they needin', a sermon for all the children who grew up inside a system that rewarded being patient, I tell 'em that patience is just another word for complacent. From "how 'bout next week?" to "what about tomorrow mornin'?" The standard is a different planet that they just got born in. And now they get it, now they with it, the culture sorts 'em out, the ones who couldn't handle the intensity will start to pout. And that's a good thing, a pure thing, a necessary pain, to separate the passengers from pilots in the rain. [Bridge] The pace has to be profound. Breathtaking. Order-of-magnitude. You want to go twenty percent faster? That's barely a new latitude. I need a change that alters everything they thought they knew... 'Cause you don't really know what's possible until you finally break through. [Chorus] Hiiiigher Velo-city! Got the grace of God on a killin' spree! [Yes Lord! See me now!] Hiiiigher Velo-city! Oh, you thought we was sleepin', now you finally see!
Don't just like your work, you gotta love it, feel it in your sinew, while the rest of them are comfortable just lettin' the sin continue. The B-players are the silent killers, the culture's quiet cancer, They're not the problem, see, they're just the symptom—we're the answer. I see 'em passin' 'round the projects, the 'good enough' is traded, a legacy of compromise 'til everything has faded. So I'm movin' through the hallways with a different kind of vision, to excise the satisfactory with a merciless incision. [Pre-Chorus] The middle ground is vanished, I took it all away... There's only two classifications at the closing of the day... it's either insanely great—or it's total trash! there is no in-between, it all turns into ash! it's either insanely great—or it's a waste of air! the only thing that's worse than hate is a voice that doesn't care! The praise for 'not bad' is the poison that they're sippin' on, that polite nod of approval is the ground they're slippin' on. I ask 'em if they love it and their eyes go blank and hollow, they want me just to swallow what they know their pride can't follow. I channel that old fury, that binary design, no sympathy for anything that doesn't feel divine. You show me somethin' average, I show you where the door is, the standard is the standard, now you know just what the core is. So don't come back until your soul is in the work you made... Until there's absolutely nothing left to be afraid...
[Intro] "Priority should ideally only be used as a singular word. The moment you have many priorities... you actually have none." [Verse 1] You want a dissertation, a demonstration of the power of a million little things that you can do within the hour? They got their backlogs and their back-channels and their back-burners, a team of fast learners who still ain't fast learners. I see 'em scatter-shot, they try to boil the whole ocean, a motion that they think is progress but it's just commotion. A mile wide and an inch deep, the vanity of options, they're buildin' pretty prisons out of procedural adoptions. I ask 'em what's the one thing, the singular objective, they give me back a top three, a comfortable perspective. The fear of being wrong is a poison in the conference room, so they'd rather be vaguely right inside a decorated tomb. [Pre-Chorus] But I'ma ask again, 'cause the question has a sharp edge... If you could only do one thing before you're standing on the ledge... [Chorus] What is the one thing? ...I said, what is the ONE thing? ...The focus is a weapon. The rest is just noise in the wind. [Verse 2] They wanna tell me what they're gonna do, a litany of action, a comprehensive vision that's designed to gain some traction. But providence will only move when you un-clutter your station, you gotta kill your darlings, an act of pure creation through brutal subtraction. A beautiful reduction. The singularity of purpose is the engine of production. You can't be everything to everyone, you gotta make a choice now, you gotta find your true north and then amplify your voice now. They call it tunnel vision, I call it clarity of mission, the joyful art of knowin' exactly what your position demands of you. There is no plan B, there is no second option, just the razor's edge of focus and a singular adoption. [Pre-Chorus] I know it feels like losing, letting all those other paths go... But the fastest way to move is when there's nowhere else you can go... [Chorus] What is the one thing? ...I said, what is the ONE thing? ...The focus is a weapon. The rest is just noise in the wind.
[Verse 1] The bonus pool is funded, the victory hunted, a quarter's worth of combat that the timid ones all punted. Now it's allocation time, the truth comes into play, the manager's first instinct is to look the other way. A comfortable division, that's a lie he wants to tell you, that everybody's equal is the dream he wants to sell you. Entitlement culture, you count it 'fore you earn it, a sure sign of the sickness, and I'm the one to burn it. I see you under-bonusing your best ones, that's the real crime, takin' from the weakest links to give the strong their shine time. [Pre-Chorus] This is the money conversation, quarter after quarter, the part that separates the lions from the lambs for slaughter... [Chorus] No Peanut Butter—this ain't a potluck! No Peanut Butter—runnin' out of your luck! No Peanut Butter—need to see the bell-shaped curve! No Peanut Butter—you only get what you deserve! [Verse 2] You see the chain of command gettin' nervous in their shoes now, they gotta face the truth of who's gon' win and who's gon' lose now. A history of bonuses just handed out like candy, but that sweet talk turns to poison when the numbers aren't so handy. It's confrontational, I know, I see it on their face, they wish we'd all just get along inside this comfortable place. But that below-average history makes the parting line so clear, no arguments or HR trips when you're no longer needed here. It’s not a punishment, it's just the purest form of data, your contribution level measured out, no 'see you lata'. The A-players respect it, 'cause it validates their vision, it’s only those who coast that call the truth a hard decision. [Chorus] No Peanut Butter—this ain't a potluck! No Peanut Butter—runnin' out of your luck! No Peanut Butter—need to see the bell-shaped curve! No Peanut Butter—you only get what you deserve!
I heard the backlash, I saw the venom in their eyes, a certain momentum builds when you stop askin' for their permission. The lonely lesson is the only blessing that you get for it, they only see the outcome, they never see the credit that you put in when the lights are off, and the night is long, and you're staring at the ceiling wonderin' if your rights are wrong. I saw the passengers, they voted with their feet for a softer cushion, But a diamond's only made when you keep pushin'. But I am the man in the arena... My face is marred, you've never seen it cleaner. I am the man in the arena... And I would not trade the struggle for the peace that you prefer. They told me leadership was handshakes and persuasion, a series of small compromises for the whole nation. But it's a cold negotiation, a treaty signed in adrenaline, it's bein' the only one who knows the cure but still feels the venom in the room. I'm just a ghost inside the board room now, writin' out the strategy they’ll never understand how it all connects. They want the title, they don't want the struggle, they want the final photograph without the blood inside the puddle. 'Cause I am the man in the arena... My face is marred, you've never seen it cleaner. I am the man in the arena... And I would not trade the struggle for the peace that you prefer. The applause all fades, the stock price all decays, the headlines all get old and start to turn another page. The only thing that's left, the only real and honest proof... Is the work you did when no one else was lookin' in the booth.
Amp It Up! Oh, can you feel the current now? Gotta Amp It Up! The future's here, we won't allow You say you'll get back next week, I hear the hesitation, another brick inside the wall of a slow sedation. I see the rhythm of the place, the casual compliance, a silent pact to never challenge the established science of 'how things are done here.' It's a comfortable disease, I'm the unorthodox physician here to cure you with the breeze of a brand new momentum. A shift you feel inside your soul, the part of you that's tired of givin' up on all your control. This ain't 'bout movin' frantic, this is 'bout a change of state, from waitin' for the future to deciding on your fate. They start to do it differently, they feel a brand new way... They stop thinkin' 'bout a week from now and only see today. This ain't just doin' things faster, man, this ain't a simple trick... This is that get-it-done culture where the mindset finally clicks. Gotta Amp It Up! Oh, can you feel the current now? Gotta Amp It Up! The future's here, we won't allow the pace to ever slow, we let the spirit overflow! Gotta Amp It Up! And watch the whole garden grow! The cadence is infectious, the whole team's metabolism is changing from the inside out, a beautiful schism from the old way of thinkin'. I see the pep in how they walkin', they're more demanding in their emails, even how they're talkin'. This ain't a place for people who just wanna coast along, the energy itself will tell you right where you belong. We had a couple new hires quit, said the intensity was crazy, but the keepers who remained told me that the old way was just lazy. And that's the filter, that's the culture doin' its real job, to find the ones who want the fire, and separate 'em from the mob. They call the pressure unsustainable, a "recipe for burnout"... But I know that inspiration's somethin' you can learn 'bout. The best people are thirsty, they need to feel the mission... The only real terminal disease is a lack of ambition. Gotta Amp It Up! Oh, can you feel the current now? Gotta Amp It Up! The future's here, we won't allow the pace to ever slow, we let the spirit overflow! Gotta Amp It Up! And watch the whole garden grow!
