[Intro] "Priority should ideally only be used as a singular word. The moment you have many priorities... you actually have none." [Verse 1] You want a dissertation, a demonstration of the power of a million little things that you can do within the hour? They got their backlogs and their back-channels and their back-burners, a team of fast learners who still ain't fast learners. I see 'em scatter-shot, they try to boil the whole ocean, a motion that they think is progress but it's just commotion. A mile wide and an inch deep, the vanity of options, they're buildin' pretty prisons out of procedural adoptions. I ask 'em what's the one thing, the singular objective, they give me back a top three, a comfortable perspective. The fear of being wrong is a poison in the conference room, so they'd rather be vaguely right inside a decorated tomb. [Pre-Chorus] But I'ma ask again, 'cause the question has a sharp edge... If you could only do one thing before you're standing on the ledge... [Chorus] What is the one thing? ...I said, what is the ONE thing? ...The focus is a weapon. The rest is just noise in the wind. [Verse 2] They wanna tell me what they're gonna do, a litany of action, a comprehensive vision that's designed to gain some traction. But providence will only move when you un-clutter your station, you gotta kill your darlings, an act of pure creation through brutal subtraction. A beautiful reduction. The singularity of purpose is the engine of production. You can't be everything to everyone, you gotta make a choice now, you gotta find your true north and then amplify your voice now. They call it tunnel vision, I call it clarity of mission, the joyful art of knowin' exactly what your position demands of you. There is no plan B, there is no second option, just the razor's edge of focus and a singular adoption. [Pre-Chorus] I know it feels like losing, letting all those other paths go... But the fastest way to move is when there's nowhere else you can go... [Chorus] What is the one thing? ...I said, what is the ONE thing? ...The focus is a weapon. The rest is just noise in the wind.
